A Legendary Challenge in the WRC
The Acropolis Rally, first held in 1953, became a part of the FIA World Rally Championship in 1973. In the 1970s, it featured over 50 stages and covered 850 competitive kilometers. After an eight-year break, the Acropolis Rally rejoined the WRC in 2021. Known for its tough gravel terrain, the rally challenges teams physically and mentally with its dusty, rocky mountain roads and intense heat. First organized in 1951, the rally has been a WRC staple for 40 editions. Nicknamed ‘The Rally of the Gods,’ it begins under the iconic Parthenon in Athens, drawing fans with its thrilling and demanding nature over the last 41 years.
