Hankook Named Global Partner of the FIA, Advancing Sustainable Innovation in Motorsport and Mobility

Hankook Tire has joined the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) as an official Global Partner, strengthening collaboration in innovation, sustainability, and safety across motorsport and future mobility. Under the partnership, Hankook will serve as the Official Partner of the FIA Awards and the FIA Sustainable Innovation Series from 2026 to 2028, contributing to a global platform that advances ‘track-to-road’ technology transfer from motorsport to everyday mobility.

As part of this partnership, Hankook Tire serves as the Official Partner of the FIA Sustainable Innovation Series from 2026 to 2028. Launched in March 2024, the FIA Sustainable Innovation Series (SIS) is a global platform that brings together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators across FIA championships and international forums to explore the future of mobility through sustainability, technology, and performance.

At a time of increasing ESG priorities, decarbonization goals, and rapid technological change, the SIS supports dialogue and collaboration on key challenges and opportunities facing mobility and motorsport. Through expert panels, keynote discussions, and innovation showcases, the series encourages knowledge sharing and cross-sector engagement that contribute to more sustainable and responsible progress across the industry.

Leveraging its expertise in EV-focused products such as the iON tire line, AI-driven development, and increased use of renewable and recycled materials, Hankook continues to drive sustainable technological innovation. The company’s role as the exclusive tire supplier for major FIA World Championships—including the FIA Formula E World Championship and the FIA World Rally Championship—further supports research and development of next-generation materials and solutions.

As an FIA Global Partner, Hankook aims to help shape a more sustainable mobility ecosystem, working with the FIA to advance safe, responsible, and future-focused mobility worldwide.

ESG FIA Three Star Environmental Accreditation

Hankook has been awarded the prestigious ‘FIA Three-Star Environmental Accreditation’ by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the highest level of recognition for environmental management and sustainability. The FIA Environmental Accreditation program is designed to encourage environmental stewardship and sustainable practices within motorsports and the broader mobility sector. Hankook received this recognition for its proactive efforts in sustainability, particularly its contributions to climate change initiatives, including its role as the exclusive tire supplier and official sponsor of Formula E.

FIA Girls on Track

FIA Girls on Track is a Formula E led initiative, created to promote gender equality in the field of motorsports.
The programme contributes to lowering barriers of entry into the world of motorsports by providing educational opportunities to girls and young women between the ages of 12 and 18 years old.
