Seoul, Korea, January 8, 2025 — Excitement is building for the Hankook Mexico City E-Prix on January 11, Hankook's inaugural title race of the 2024/2025 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Taking place at the iconic Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez circuit in Mexico City, this groundbreaking event will highlight Hankook’s dedication to tire innovation and sustainability as the technical partner, exclusive tire supplier, and race title sponsor of Formula E.
“The tires will once again be tested to their limits, but after demonstrating exceptional performance during pre-season testing and the season opener, I am confident that the GEN3 Evo iON Race will meet the challenge and conquer the demands of the Mexican circuit,” said Manfred Sandbichler, Hankook Motorsports Senior Director. “With zero tire-related issues over the past two seasons, and with our tires consistently delivering further enhanced performance across diverse conditions this season, we are committed to continually raising the level of reliability and performance throughout the season.”
The revolutionary GEN3 Evo iON Race tire is engineered to excel in the demanding conditions of the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez circuit, where high altitude and technical corners put extreme demands on tire performance. The tire's advanced compound and innovative tread design deliver superior grip and exceptional durability while maintaining optimal pressure control across varying track conditions.
“After the season opener in São Paulo, I believe drivers have become even more attuned to the tires, building confidence in their adaptability and performance,” said Maximilian Günther (DS PENSKE). “The tires, of course, demonstrated remarkable resilience to extreme temperature swings and harsh surface conditions, instilling a greater sense of trust among the drivers. As we head into Mexico, I expect an even fiercer and more intense level of racing.”
Anticipated to be one of the most attended races of the season, the Hankook Mexico City E-Prix will add another thrilling chapter to this fierce competition. Hankook begins its title sponsorship in Mexico and will continue with title races in two more countries this season, leveraging its technical expertise and accumulated data to ensure exceptional tire performance and innovation throughout the year.
