Seoul, Korea, November 22, 2023 – The Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals that took place from 18th to 19th November in Vallelunga, Italy, were the glorious conclusion to an extremely successful first season for Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) as the official tire partner. A total of 82 Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 competed with the Hankook Ventus Race in the highlight of the 2023 season.

The drivers of the sports cars harnessed over 600 HP to provide exciting motorsport action and thrill more than 10,000 spectators. French driver Amaury Bonduel finished the season in perfect fashion with victory in the first event and third place in the second race, thanks to the great performance of the Hankook’s tires. The driver from the BDR Competition by Grupo Prom team of Belgium scored 27 points to emerge from the World Finals as the new champion. This was the 10th edition of the historic event, which will take place next year in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.

The 2023 season represented a new chapter for Hankook Tire and Lamborghini Squadra Corse. As exclusive tire partner, the premium tire manufacturer supports the drivers in the three Lamborghini Super Trofeo continental championships with the reliable grip of the Hankook Ventus Race. The championship season consisted of 18 races, visiting prestigious circuits such as the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, the Nürburgring in Germany, Laguna Seca in the USA, and the Inje Speedium in Korea for Hankook Tire’s home race.

A pair of drivers from New Zealand, Marco Giltrap and Chris van der Drift, set the standards in Asia. They claimed eleven out of a possible twelve wins to secure the title. A similarly dominant situation emerged at an early stage in North America as well. Daniel Formal from Costa Rica and Kyle Marcelli from Canada also chalked up eleven victories in eleven championship races to claim the title. However, the European championship remained up for grabs until the final event. New Zealander driver Brendon Leitch from Germany’s Leipert Motorsport finished third in the final race to claim the championship.

Manfred Sandbichler, Hankook Motorsport Director Europe: “That was a fantastic conclusion to our debut season as the official tire partner of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo. I would like to thank everyone who took part in a thrilling season with extremely high-quality motor racing, and of course, I would like to express my congratulations to the winners. The Hankook Ventus Race and the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 are good teams. Drivers were able to rely on the best possible level of grip and great performance as they executed their maneuvers on the track.”

The Oregon Team was delighted to receive a special prize at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo awards ceremony. A poll on the Hankook Motorsport Instagram channel allowed users to cast their votes and choose the winner of the Hankook Best Livery Award. The traditional pink, yellow, and green design for the Italian racing team proved the most popular. The trophy was presented by Sanghoon Lee, President and COO of Hankook Tire Europe, to Marzio Moretti from Italy, who recorded two victories in the winning livery this year together with Sebastian Balthasar from Germany.
